Everything begins with a pointe shoe in the 50s. Half a century later, Papillon became a big European brand with collections for any style of dance and also other sports. In the 50s, a family of Amsterdam discovered ballet shoes in a store located in London. They decided then to enter the German market. The first brand name was originally called " Le Papillon" (before becoming "Papillon" in the 90s) in reference to the class and to the elegance of the French ballet. The family first established near Theatre Carré in Amsterdam, where they quickly became a reference in the world of the dance. They also followed the trends to enter, besides ballet dance, other dance style market such as disco, or even other disciplines such as fitness, yoga or aerobics. Both the Dance Wear and Sport Wear collections are made to be quality and confortable products. While following the last trends, Papillon always remembers its roots.
